Boot up a Linux kernel from an SD card

Boot

Kexec

Kexec is a kernel extension/patch that permits to load another kernel than the one which is running at the moment.

I never used it, but i know that some guys use it for their zaurus to boot on SD.

Uboot

Uboot is a boot loader. It can boot on SD.

I've used it for my zaurus to boot up Debian GNU/Linux Armel on SD.

I believe some tweaks are needed for it to work, on the zaurus: root=, MTD specific parameters…

It does work anyway, with already compiled kernels: angstrom, poky, contributed ones…

sharp boot loader

It seems to be possible to boot up a linux kernel on SD from the sharp zaurus bootloader. Read the OSEF forum to find any tip.
